Media: What Motivates Men to Expose Themselves Without Consent?

Following comedian Louis C.K.'s admission that he engaged in sexual misconduct, Mic spoke with BARCC Executive Director Gina Scaramella to gain a better understanding of the power dynamic of indecent exposure and the psychological impact of non-physical sexual violence. 

Excerpt: “Once you take apart how people groom whom they victimize, they do tend to do less inappropriate things first,” Scaramella said. “But the problem is, this isn’t really less inappropriate. It isn’t touching someone, but it is extremely out of the norm to whip out your genitals and just think that other people are dying to see you masturbate."
