“It’s so wonderful to have BARCC as such a robust, welcoming community resource.” —Ashleigh Hala, Babson College
Sexual violence can be stopped. Hundreds of schools, organizations, and institutions work with BARCC to bring sexual violence prevention training to their communities. You can be a part of this movement to end sexual violence and make your community a safer space.
BARCC’s education and prevention team provides workshops and trainings to schools, college campuses, police, businesses, community-based organizations, and other groups. Some trainings that cover counseling and BARCC services are led by BARCC’s clinical staff. Our staff-facilitated trainings cover how to respond appropriately to survivors of sexual assault and how to create school and workplace cultures that reduce the occurrence of sexual assault in the first place. Speakers from BARCC’s Survivor Speakers Bureau also are available to go into the community to share their personal experiences with sexual violence—including reflections on the incident, the aftermath, and the road to recovery.
We offer trainings in several areas:
- Responding to disclosures of rape and sexual assault
- Beginning and advanced clinical training for clinical professionals
- Organizational policy development and review on responding to and preventing sexual violence
- Understanding the dynamics of sexual assault
Our staff have particular expertise in working with youth and adults who work with them; immigrant communities; college students, faculty and staff; and professional staff such as police, health-care providers, and social service agencies.
We can also work with you to develop a custom workshop, training, seminar, or presentation on any topic relating to sexual violence. You can reach us at 617-492-8306 or engagements@barcc.org to discuss your needs. We seek to serve and empower all members of our communities. If you have concerns or questions about accommodations, feel free to contact us.
