Sexual Assault Awareness Month isn’t over yet, and there are still lots of ways you can get involved and support BARCC and our mission! We know not everyone has the time to go through our training and volunteer on an ongoing basis, but here are some fast and easy ways to help!

Chase Community Giving is giving away up to $500,000 to nonprofits! BARCC and our sister RCC Peace Over Violence need your vote! click here to vote for us, and come back every day and click again! (Also, become our fan on Facebook to get updates on that and so much more!)

There are several ways to support BARCC - by shopping! Deals include fudge, flowers, canvas bags, and meals at The Melting Pot and California Pizza Kitchen. Plus, you can always use our portal to do your regular Amazon shopping - and BARCC will get a donation!

The rally will be followed by a City Council Hearing at 5:00pm on “Sexual Assault Prevention and Reporting on College Campuses”.
At the hearing, the City Council wants to hear from current and former students, friends and family members of survivors of college sexual violence, and concerned community members. They want to hear about:

  * The official response to reports of sexual violence by the college.
  * The support services that were provided to the survivor by the college.
  * The response from the college community.

Speakers can testify in person. If you are interested in testifying, please e-mail BARCC at or call our office at 617.492.8306 and ask to speak to Laura or Tierney.

You can also submit written testimony by mail to: Committee on Women and Healthy Communities, Staff Director Cora Montrond, Boston City Council, 5th Floor, Boston City Hall, One City Hall Plaza, Boston, MA 02201. You can also send it by e-mail to or via fax to 617.635.4203. If you want the testimony to be anonymous, please send it to Peggy Barrett at BARCC, 99 Bishop Allen Drive, Cambridge, MA 02139, or e-mail, and we will remove all identifying information.

The rally is being sponsored by Boston City Councilor Felix G. Arroyo, Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley, Victim Rights Law Center, The Center for Violence Prevention & Recovery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and BARCC.
