Do You Know What April Is?

Sexual Assault Awareness Month

In the past year, many of us have spent much more time online than we did before COVID-19. That’s one reason “We Can Build Safe Online Spaces” is this year’s national theme for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), which starts next week.

At BARCC, we think a lot about how to build safer online spaces. Whether it’s on our web chat hotline, in our virtual counseling groups that we started during the pandemic, in conversations with our Youth Leadership Corps, in our Virtual Walk for Change, or in our community trainings about how people can take action when they see or hear inappropriate behavior. And we’ll be exploring this theme throughout the month, so stay tuned to our social channels (you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) and our website.

We hope that you will join us in April for one of our virtual events listed below. We’re excited to connect with you and work together to support survivors and change the culture—online and off.

Above all this SAAM, we want you to know we are, as always, here for you and here for survivors and their loved ones throughout Greater Boston.

Take care and see you online!
