Because of you, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) provides free services to all survivors of sexual violence—and right now, as the weather gets cold, we need you more than ever!

Help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 by December 31 for our survivor emergency services fund.

Your 2023 tax-deductible gift immediately helps provide:

  • Short-term hotel stays for unhoused survivors

  • Transportation to and from counseling, legal, or medical appointments,

  • Basic necessities like groceries, toiletries, and warm clothing,

  • and much more!

We continue to see staggering cuts to our federal and local government funding, and that’s why your gift today is critically important for survivors in our care.

Your generosity immediately impacts survivors like Taylor, who was struggling after a roommate sexually assaulted her.

“Without my sister, I would’ve been on the street,” said Taylor. “She never said it, but I know I was a burden. She has her own life with her kids and her husband, and there I was, just this shell of a human, living on her couch for months.”

“I didn’t know how to change that. I was feeling alone and numb. I sent a chat to BARCC’s hotline just to tell my sister I did something that day. But the person who answered actually wanted to help.”

Taylor’s story is not uncommon here at BARCC.

55% of sexual assaults are committed in or near the survivor’s home and 8 out of 10 rapes are committed by someone known to the victim.

Without the support of caring individuals like you, we cannot provide life-changing services to survivors and their families, like Taylor.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today. Your contribution will help us provide essential services to survivors, advocate for change, and ultimately contribute to a safer and more compassionate society.

Thanks to support from donors like you, BARCC was able to offer Taylor choices that gave her more control.

“The biggest thing is that BARCC helped me move into a new apartment. I’m also seeing a therapist for free at BARCC, and I feel like I’m getting back to myself. It’s helped me open up to my sister, too. Now, I have my own safe space, and I know I’m not alone.”

Help BARCC continue to be there for survivors, regardless of their circumstances. Make your gift now.
