BARCC, in partnership with the City of Cambridge, the police departments from Cambridge, Somerville and MIT, SANE, Saheli, Transition House and MAPS, pledged to continue to believe in sexual assault survivors, support survivors on the road to justice and healing and help end the silence.

Start by Believing” is a campaign launched by End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) that aims to foster a safe and supportive environment for survivors to disclose. Hundreds of communities have participated in the campaign, several states have formally proclaimed their commitment, and thousands of individuals have taken the pledge to Start by Believing.
