Our hotline receives thousands of calls and chats each year that are primarily answered by volunteers like you. Volunteers provide crisis counseling and support for survivors and their significant others over the phone or online via web chat. They also provide resources and referrals to callers.

We are currently seeking hotline volunteers of all genders. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus. This volunteer position requires our 40-hour training; see application for dates.
Phone hotline requirements and details
- Complete 40-hour rape crisis counselor training and a buddy shift after graduation from training.
- Attend two mandatory 1.5-hour peer supervision meetings each month.
- Sign up for at least one regular weekly shift. Shifts are usually about five hours in length, and every shift gets calls. Shifts are available 24 hours a day.
- Have access to a landline or a cell phone for use during your shift in a private, secure location.
- Be available for a set time every week that you are taking calls. You know exactly when your shift begins and ends; calls can be taken from your home.
Web chat hotline requirements and details
- Complete 40-hour rape crisis counselor training and a buddy shift after graduation from training.

- Possess typing skills and be comfortable with communicating via online chat.
- Sign up for at least one regular weekly shift. Shifts are usually about five hours in length, and every shift will get chat requests.
- Have access to stable internet and a computer or other device for use during your shift in a private location.
