The holidays can be an especially difficult time for survivors of sexual violence, but this December, your gift can provide immediate help and ongoing hope. Here’s some examples of how your gift can make the season bright for survivors in our care.

BARCC’s Holiday Wish List

$25 Essentials Care Package for a Survivor in the Hospital
Provide items like cozy slippers, shampoo and soap, moisturizer, chapstick, a water bottle, and hair elastics for a survivor in the hospital. It’s a donation of kindness and compassion that goes a long way.

$50 Rideshare Gift Cards
Give a survivor reliable transportation to their counseling appointments, group therapy sessions, and meetings with case managers. Your gift can help survivors feel more independent and make their day-to-day lives feel more manageable.

$100 Travel Home for the Holidays
We all need the people we love around us during dark times. You can make sure a survivor can receive that vital care and support from family and friends, regardless of financial barriers they’re facing

$250 Stock the Fridge & Pantry
Your gift can provide grocery store gift cards to a survivor so they can enjoy nutritional, home-cooked meals with their family. It can also help provide cooking supplies like pots, pans, and utensils for a survivor who is living in a new, safe place.

$500 Immigrant Survivor Work Permit
Help an immigrant survivor file for a work permit. Without these filing fees, a survivor fleeing their home country after sexual violence cannot legally work in the U.S. And yet, without a job, it can be impossible to afford the work permit filing fee. Immigrant survivors can feel trapped by this system, but your generosity can help empower them to move forward. This is the kind of gift that changes lives.

$1,000 Invest in BARCC’s future
You can provide ongoing professional development and training for BARCC staff and volunteers, supporting our team in a way that builds knowledge and skill sets so that we can continue to provide survivors with the best possible care. Investing in these opportunities empowers our team to continue learning, growing, and taking care of each other as we accompany survivors on their journeys. This is the kind of gift that helps shape a future free from sexual violence.

We appreciate your support, and thank you for helping us cross items off our holiday wish list! Every donation, no matter the size, makes an impact on the survivors we serve.
