BARCC is Recruiting Board of Director Members!

Bring your expertise and expand your experience (and your network) to include non profit stewardship by serving as a BARCC Board member.

If you are committed to ending sexual violence through healing, empowerment, and social change, a BARCC board seat may be your opportunity to contribute to your community.

We are especially interested in future board members with finance skills – fiscal management as well as development and fundraising professionals. This is a 5 – 10 hour/month role that requires a trauma-informed, empathetic, social justice mindset. If you are interested, please complete the following application.

The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) is a nationally recognized leader in sexual violence prevention, advocacy, and healing. For over 50 years, we have provided crisis intervention, legal advocacy, counseling, and community education across Eastern Massachusetts. Our mission is to end sexual violence through healing, advocacy, and social change.

About Board Service at BARCC

BARCC’s Board of Directors provides strategic oversight, organizational leadership, and fiduciary responsibility for the organization. Board members are passionate advocates who bring their professional expertise, networks, and lived experience to advance our mission. This is a volunteer, unpaid position.

BOARD COMMITMENT

Board membership requires actively participating in regular Board meetings, serving on at least one committee, and supporting and attending BARCC's two major annual events: the Walk for Change (spring) and the Champions for Change Gala (fall). All Board members are expected to contribute to BARCC's financial health by making a gift of personal significance — defined as a contribution that is among your top three charitable gifts annually.
