Media: ‘A Victory for Survivors of Sexual Assault’

BARCC Executive Director Gina Scaramella recently spoke about the importance of pending legislation that would require campus climate surveys related to sexual violence at Massachusetts institutions of higher education. 

Excerpt: "Boston Area Rape Crisis Center Executive Director Gina Scaramella said in a statement that this is because victims 'fear retaliation' or 'deep shame,' or they need to maintain their relationship with the offender, who may be in the same classes or live in the same dorm. 'This is why sexual violence is truly a silent epidemic-- and to end it, we need more and better information,' Scaramella said."
